Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern the use of Gitae as a free public diagnostics toolkit for websites, domains, IP addresses, DNS, TLS, ports, routing, and related internet-facing infrastructure checks.
1. Nature of the service
Gitae is a focused public diagnostics toolkit created by Sergey Solod. It is designed to help users obtain practical technical answers about public websites, domains, IP addresses, DNS behavior, TLS certificates, port reachability, routing paths, hosting clues, and related infrastructure questions.
Gitae is intended as a direct diagnostic utility. It is not represented as a global monitoring empire, a complete observability platform, a managed incident system, or a guarantee of universal visibility across the internet.
2. Free service
At the time of publication of these Terms, Gitae is provided free of charge.
The service may be modified, expanded, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without any obligation to maintain every tool, result type, route, or interface behavior indefinitely.
3. Permitted use
You may use Gitae only for lawful purposes and only in a manner consistent with the nature of a public diagnostics service.
The service is intended for checks of public internet-facing targets and related technical questions. You must not use Gitae to facilitate unlawful access, intrusion, persistence, evasion, credential abuse, destructive probing, or any other unlawful or abusive activity.
If the nature, volume, or context of a check requires authorization, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right and practical authority to perform that check.
4. Sensitive data and prohibited submissions
You must not submit passwords, authentication credentials, secret keys, private tokens, internal-only hostnames, confidential infrastructure details, personal data that is not necessary for diagnostics, or any other sensitive information through Gitae unless a clearly designated secure channel expressly asks for it.
You must not use Gitae in a way that attempts to conceal abuse, overload the service, interfere with its operation, scrape it destructively, bypass technical limits, or impair the experience of other users.
5. How results should be understood
Gitae provides technical outputs based on the checks it performs and the evidence available to it at the time of the request. Results are informational and diagnostic in nature.
Results may depend on timing, protocol behavior, DNS propagation, third-party networks, transient outages, geolocation, rate limits, firewalls, transport conditions, or other factors outside the control of Gitae.
Where a report compares two server locations, that comparison reflects Russia and Finland only. It does not prove how every country, region, autonomous system, carrier, office network, home network, or user environment sees the same target.
6. No warranties
Gitae is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, absolute accuracy, universal completeness, universal protocol support, error-free operation, or fitness for any particular purpose.
Gitae does not replace full observability systems, real user monitoring, large synthetic fleets, internal telemetry, or incident-response tooling.
7. User responsibility
You are solely responsible for the targets you choose to test, the legality of your use of the service, the interpretation of results, and any decisions or actions taken on the basis of those results.
You are also responsible for verifying conclusions before relying on them in production, contractual, customer-facing, legal, security-sensitive, or other high-stakes contexts.
8. Intellectual property
All rights in and to Gitae, including its software, structure, design, text, branding, result presentation, and related materials, belong to Sergey Solod or the relevant rights holders unless expressly stated otherwise.
These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Gitae for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
9. Suspension and protection of the service
We may restrict, suspend, or block access to Gitae where reasonably necessary to protect the service, other users, infrastructure providers, or legal rights, including in cases of abuse, excessive load, unlawful activity, suspicious activity, or repeated disregard of these Terms.
We may also implement technical controls, rate limits, request filtering, logging, and other protective measures to preserve service integrity.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sergey Solod shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profit, goodwill, business opportunity, or other intangible loss arising out of or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, Gitae.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
11. Privacy
Use of Gitae is also governed by the Gitae Privacy Policy. By using the service, you acknowledge that information may be processed as described in that policy.
12. Changes to the service and to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service, its legal posture, its infrastructure, or its operational model.
The current version applies from the moment it is published on the relevant page unless a different approach is required by applicable law.
13. Governing legal framework and severability
These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable mandatory law. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
